Erik Pietzka
Your Practitioner
My name is Erik Pietzka (MBAcC, Lic Ac) and I have held an interest in acupuncture for many years. I am from Cardiff, where I live and practice.
I discovered acupuncture after having treatment for stress type symptoms, I was working long hours in a busy working environment and over time this was starting to affect my mood, sleep and energy levels. After speaking to a friend who had been helped by acupuncture I decided to give it a try. The result was a complete turnaround in my symptoms within a few weeks and I was inspired enough to want to become an acupuncturist!
I’ve been an acupuncturist for over 14 years and studied at the renowned College of Integrated Chinese Medicine (“CICM”) in Reading, Berkshire. The course provides a comprehensive degree level training and graduates of CICM are granted automatic membership to the British Acupuncture Council, the largest professional body for acupuncture in the UK.
I have a good understanding of illness from a Western perspective from my Biology degree (specialising in pharmacology and physiology) with the course at CICM also providing a comprehensive ‘Conventional Medical Sciences’ programme.

Lucy Wilson
Your Practitioner
Hi, I’m Lucy Wilson (MBAcc, Lic Ac) and have recently relocated to Cardiff and joined the AcuTy team. Acupuncture has been in my life for over 20 years, originally when my older sister started training to be an acupuncturist and used me as her practice dummy! I was amazed that even at her training stage she was able to help with ailments I had such as ear infections, stopping a cold develop and whatever else I seemed to have at the time.
I continued to using acupuncture regularly and finally realised that I was unhappy with my job as it just wasn’t ‘me’ and should follow my sister into the acupuncture world. This turned out to be the best decision I have ever made as I wake up every morning looking forward to the day ahead instead of dreading it!
Like Erik, I studied at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in Reading learning a combination of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Five Element acupuncture which gives the advantage of being able to treat many emotional, physical and mental symptoms as well as a person’s underlying constitution. Also like Erik I am a full member of The British Acupuncture Council.
Other treatments that I may use include during treatments are cupping, electro-acupuncture, moxibustion, Guasha and Tuina if deemed necessary.

Cecily Hanton
Your Practitioner
Hi, I’m Cecily. I’ve recently joined the team at AcuTy. I graduated from the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in Reading gaining a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine (the same college as Lucy and Erik). My main interests are treating psycho-emotional disorders, stress, dermatology and musculoskeletal problems. I also offer cosmetic acupuncture to provide natural alternatives for dermal fillers. The aim of this is to bring vitality to the face and reduce fine lines, whilst treating in a holistic manner. I also like to use Flower remedies and crystals to support my patients.
Before acupuncture, I ran a dog grooming business and although I loved it, I knew my role was to help people heal. My previous career in running a small business taught me huge amounts about stress management and mental well-being. I began getting acupuncture to support my own health and found it gave me a quality of life I never imagined. Now, I want to provide this care for others.
I’m pleased to have joined the AcuTy team and am looking forward to meeting and treating you here.
